Parents as Teachers

Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. Parents as Teachers is a program for parents and their children from birth to age 3. It enhances parents' confidence in their new parenting role. Parents as Teachers can help you lay a strong foundation for your child's future learning. It is a free and voluntary program for parents and children to enhance early learning. First time, teens and single parents are especially encouraged to join.What does the program offer?

--Home visits from a trained and certified Parent Educator in Child Development

--Group meeting with other parents to share experiences, joys and frustrations

--Weekly play groups for your infant and toddler

--Screening to encourage your child's healthy development

--Parent Resource Center with toys, books and videos for checkout, focusing on many aspects of child development and parenting.
